Charlie Walters - From Apprentice to Engineer
Completing my apprenticeship with the H3 Group has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of fire and security systems. From CCTV systems to Intruder Alarms, Fire Extinguishers and Alarms, and Access Control, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of each facet. This hands-on experience has been invaluable in shaping my skills and knowledge in this field.
One of the most significant aspects of my apprenticeship has been the mentorship and guidance from more experienced engineers. Their expertise and willingness to share their knowledge have been instrumental in my development. I have learned not only the technical aspects of the job but also the importance of precision, attention to detail, adapting to different environments and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. This mentorship has been a cornerstone of my growth, and I am deeply grateful for their support.
Throughout my apprenticeship, I have also had the chance to work on a variety of projects, each presenting its own set of challenges and learning opportunities. These projects have allowed me to apply my theoretical knowledge in practical settings, enhancing my problem-solving skills and boosting my confidence. The diverse experiences have prepared me to handle a wide range of scenarios in the fire and security industry. Some of the more memorable ones include installation of a 20-camera system at Mond Vale, Installation of new turnstiles and other access control systems at Marelli, replacing 15 cameras at Runtech and the full security systems at Coleg Harlech.
I am now in a position to mentor apprentices and grateful for completing my apprenticeship with the H3 Group, where I learned all aspects of fire and security systems from experienced engineers, and I look forward to a bright future at this fantastic organization.
